Miss Rukia, were you able to find your friend? I haven't run into anyone with orange hair, though I've heard some very loud people over the radios.
To the rest of you: my name is Yuna, and I'm looking for two friends of mine. A girl and a boy, both blonde and tan. The girl is Rikku, my cousin, and the boy is Tidus. If you see either of them, please, let me know. And, if either if you hear this, I'll come and find you.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about how I play Yuna, please voice them here. I love to have input, good or bad, I just ask that you manage to be civil either way, and try and be as specific as possible so I can improve my playing based on your comments. If you merely say "you suck at Yuna", I can't very well get better. Try pinpointing what I'm doing wrong or right and make as specific a reference as you can. Otherwise, I'll assume you just have a problem with me as a player and you're trying to take it out through my HMD post. Thank you! Physical Appearance: Yuna is about 5'3". She's got short, layered brown hair, a round face and an overall thin body type. The most interesting thing about Yuna's appearance is her eyes - she has one blue eye, and one green eye with a swirled pupil. This is because she's half Al Bhed, and green, swirled eyes are characteristic of the race. Here is her character art from FFX-2.
Personality and Traits: Yuna is a rather private person. She internalizes any sadness, nostalgia or regret she feels so that she doesn't burden other people with her problems - which attributes to her sense of responsibility. She's a symbol of hope and an example for all of Spira, and she knows this, and acts as a good leader and tries her best to be a good example. She's very honest and cares for others and their safety before her own. When confronted by Yunalesca with the offer of the Final Aeon, she refuses because she is willing to sacrifice her own life for Spira, but not the life of one of her guardians.
Because she's been protected by Lulu, Wakka, Chappu and Kimahri her entire life, she is rather sheltered. When she sees someone being treated cruelly or unfairly, or when she discovers that Yevon is a sham, she is amazed that people could even... be like that. She's very polite, friendly and helpful, doing whatever she can to make things easier on others, and makes friends very easily.
Canon Background: This is going to be epically long, so be prepared. TWO LONG GAMES WORTH OF HISTORY.
TL;DR because it's necessary. Yuna saved the world by defeating Sin, but at the cost of her omgtruelove. So, she spent two years finding him, and in the end she saved the world again, so the fayth brought him back.
Okay, so Yuna was born to Summoner Braska and an Al Bhed woman (Cid's sister) in Bevelle. She was named after Yunalesca, the first summoner in Spira to defeat Sin. When she was young, her father left for his pilgrimage; Yuna remembers the whole city cheering for him, and she started crying when she realized she was all alone, but Kimahri found her. After her father defeated Sin and it was certain that he wasn't returning, Kimahri and brought her to Besaid Island. There, she stayed with Lulu, Chappu and Wakka, and Kimahri continued to protect her. She began to train as a summoner at the temple of Besaid, and two days before Wakka found Tidus on the beach, Yuna went into the chamber of the fayth with her guardians with the intention of beginning her pilgrimage.
Tidus comes crashing into the chamber three days later, and she comes out - sweaty, exhausted, but successful. That night, she summons Valefor for the first time, and the two meet. Tidus joins the Besaid Aurochs, and they travel together to Kilika - on the boat, Sin attacks, and he destroys most of the Kilika dock. Yuna performs a sending for the people there so that the souls of the dead may pass to the Farplane rather than becoming fiends. This is where Yuna obtains Ifrit, and they meet Donna and Barthello for the first time - it's revealed that all summoners are competing for who can defeat Sin first, and Donna and Yuna make it a real competition. In the woods on the way to the temple, Yuna first extends the offer for Tidus to become a guardian. The others think this is OMG SO RIDICULOUS HE'S A MORON and the topic is dropped... until they hop on the boat to Luca. Yuna and Tidus talk about Auron and Jecht (Tidus' father) and how they were Braska's guardians on his pilgrimage.
When they reach Luca, the blitzball tournament starts immediately. Yuna is kidnapped by the Al Bhed, they're trying to kidnap summoners to get them to not sacrifice themselves, and Tidus has to leave the first half of the game to help Lulu rescue Yuna. Auron is rumored to be running around Then, after the finals, the stadium is attacked by fiends. Yuna and her guardians help, but the real savior of the day is Maester Seymour Guado, who summons Anima and ends the assault. They all meet up near the road to Mi'ihen, and Auron offers his services to Yuna as a guardian - she accepts, of course, and Tidus agrees to become one as well.
They march through the Mi'ihen and at the exit to Mushroom Rock, they're stopped by the Crusaders because there's an operation going on - a joint effort with the Al Bhed in an attempt to destroy Sin. Maester Seymour appears and tells the crusaders to let them through, and they try to stop the operation for religious reasons, only to find that two Maesters and Yevon as a whole have given their blessing. The Operation uses sinspawn to lure Sin to the beach. They try to shoot him down, but they fail, and nearly every crusader participating is killed. Yuna performs a sending, and they have to join forces with Seymour to defeat a stray sinspawn.
God, I'm getting so sick of this step-by-step. TL;DR Yuna gets her other aeons, she gets kidnapped by Al Bhed and rescued again, then Seymour proposes in Guadosalam and Yuna says lol idkkk and Tidus is like "BUT I LOVE YOU" and they go to Macalania Temple and find out that Seymour killed his father, Maester Jyscal. They fight, Seymour dies, they stop Yuna from sending him so he remains on this plane. They are chased out of Macalania Temple and fall under the ice of the lake. Sin appears and takes them to Bikanel Island, Yuna is gone. Rikku leads them to the Al Bhed colony called "Home" where the Summoner's Sanctum is, the place they hold kidnapped summoners to keep them from completing their pilgrimages. Yuna, apparently, has been kidnapped by the Guado who are attacking home. The guardians head to Bevelle, where Yuna has agreed to marry Maester Seymour in an attempt to send him. He finds out when the guardians arrive, and Yuna dives off the side of the building.
She summons Valefor to catch her, and the guardians are tossed into the via purifico. At the end, they fight Seymour again, then flee to the Macalania Woods. She makes out with Tidus, then they reach the Calm Lands. They hike up Gagazet and argue with the Ronso about whether or not they should be allowed to continue, and of course they do. They run into Seymour and fight again on the mountain, Seymour tells them he killed all the Ronso. Tidus and Rikku tell Yuna they're going to find an alternative. When they get to Zanarkand and Yuna meets Yunalesca, Yunalesca tells her that in order to get the Final Aeon, she needs to choose one of her guardians to become a fayth. Yuna says fuck that shit and they fight and kill Yunalesca, who really should have been dead anyway. The Maesters find out and flip their shit, and Yuna and crew decide they have a better way to beat Sin. They take the airship that Cid and the guardians got from Home and blow a hole in Sin, then go inside and kill Yu Yevon so that he can't summon him back.
Tidus disappears because they freed the fayth and he was a dream of the fayth, so Yuna spends two years trying to find him again based on a sphere she saw with him in it. She joins the Gullwings, a group of sphere hunters, to do this (including Rikku and Paine). The Youth League and New Yevon take control of Spira and fight with one another. A woman named LeBlanc steals Yuna's sphere grid, and then once they retrieve it, she tries to beat them to a sphere. They win, of course, and the sphere they found has a large machina called Vegnagun in it. They team up with the LeBlanc syndicate (I'm stealing parts of this from wiki because I'm so tired of explaining this plot) to search underground for the machina, and Yuna falls down a hole that appeared in the bottom of Bevelle Temple.
She winds up on the Farplane, and they realize that must be where Vegnagun is. She meets Shuyin, the man who was in the sphere that started it all, who looks just like Tidus. He mistakes her for Lenne, a summoner from the initial Zanarkand v. Spira war who he was in love with and war her songstress sphere. Shuyin's spirit possesses Baralai, the leader of New Yevon, and his friends and rival faction leaders Gippal and Nooj go to find him while Yuna and friends maintain things on the surface by going to defeat all of the 'dark Aeons'. They learn the history of Lenne and Shuyin, and Yuna puts on a second concert about how everyone should be friends and stop the fighting because that's what caused the drama between Lenne and Shuyin. They all listen, and the constant storm of the Thunder Plains recedes. The Gullwings rejoin with the Syndicate and go down to the Farplane to help defeat Vegnagun once and for all. The fayth reappears and asks Yuna if she'd like to see 'him' again. When she says yes, they gather the pyreflies of Tidus and re-create him on the beach of Besaid. Tidus and Yuna are reunited in a final scene and live happily ever after. However, the player can select 'no' and this ending will be circumvented, though the Youth League and New Yevon come together either way.
I will be pulling Yuna from just before she falls into the Farplane to meet Shuyin.
Strengths/Abilities: Emotionally, Yuna is a rock. She can always be relied on, and she accepts burdens from others without offering any of her own. Physically, she's quite proficient with a myriad of weapons, not to mention her magic. As a summoner type, she has high evasion, speed and agility . It pretty much carries over to her physiological state.
Weaknesses/Faults: Again, as a summoner, she has certain stats - including low defense, in terms of physical weaknesses. Mentally/emotionally, she's naive and slightly air-headed. She also has a messiah complex - she has the desire to help and save everyone, and is therefore quite gullible and easy to take advantage of her good will.
Items Brought With Them (anything aside from the clothes on their back): Obviously her magic and summoning powers will be removed, but I was wondering if Yuna would be able to bring her garment grid, and therefore use it as a change of clothes/better choice of weapons? Otherwise, she will only be bringing the sphere of Shuyin/Tidus.
First Person Sample: [static springs to life over the walkie talkies and a soft voice is heard speaking into it, more to herself than trying to speak to anyone else] Oh...? How did I...
Where am I? I've seen all of the corners of Spira with Rikku and Paine by now, and I've still never seen this place. [She goes quiet, but there's shuffling - like she's tossing the room, looking around it.] And, there's no sign of either of them being here.
Rikku? Paine? [sounds like she's actually speaking into the communicator intentionally this time] Brother? Buddy? Gullwings, can you hear me? Yuna, requesting pick-up from... I'm not sure.
I remember falling... There was a hole, in the chamber of the fayth. But, I don't feel like I'm underground.
Third Person Sample: When she awoke, the room was dark. There was dull, flickering artificial light coming from the corner. Yuna sat up slowly, blinking as she tried to assess her surroundings - it certainly wasn't the cabin of the Celsius. Slowly, she realized that she was lying in a itchy wool cot - one of many in the room. She remained relaxed as she rose to her feet. A window across the bunker, covered with old horizontal miniblinds, opened to the dark surrounding air. She walked towards it, placing a hand on the sill. It was hard to make out from where she stood, but there was a large figure in the distance. It shifted, and she felt the wall tremble.
Yuna jerked her hand back and stepped away from the window, reaching for one of her guns instinctively, though when her hand found it, she found herself wondering what she would do with it from this distance. She dropped her hand away from her gun and looked around, trying to find something that might be able to give her a better look at the large shape outside. There was a door to her left, and on the table by it, a communications device. She could tell by the speaker alone, because it was like nothing she'd seen Buddy with before.
That was enough to make up her mind. As she passed through the door, she grabbed the walkie talkie from the table and dropped it into the pouch on her hip to keep for later use. When in doubt, she decided about the form in the distnace, go take a closer look for yourself.
